Testosterone Rapidly Aging Transmen

In documenting female transition, particularly via the Trans Trending posts, when I first began documenting female transition, most of the women transitioning were somewhere between 35 and 50. Because they were older women, the aging effects that testosterone had, werent as noticeable in the short term use. Now that (lesbian) female youths are the dominant females transitioning, testosterone's aging effects on the female body, even in short term use, is staggering and blatant.

For example, this twenty something female recently posted a picture prior to testosterone side by side with her on testosterone for one year. Lets take a dissected look:

The picture in full:
In just ONE year, this attractive youthful young woman's skin has greyed, wrinkled and lined from testosterone poisoning. The changes we can see on her face are scary, but what is more frightening/worrisome are the aging effects and other changes we dont see on her internal organs.

  1. And when she gets the hysterectomy in a few years, the aging will accelerate as she becomes effectively a post-menopausal woman. Estrogen is 'nature's moisturizer' and she will miss out on it for almost her entire adult female life. It saddens me that probably the last people that these young women would consult with are post-menopausal women (who could give them some heads up about what's in store) because FTMs buy into this society's devaluation of women so they probably especially devalue older women. The FTMs would sooner listen to males like Julia Serrano or Janet Mock who've never had a period in their lives and have no practical advice to offer about owning a biologically female body.

    1. I knew that girl when she was a lesbian.... she was in a gay collab in youtube. I'm so shocked :/

  2. She was such a cute young woman. It breaks my heart that she felt it necessary to change herself (chemically). As a young Butch, thank the Goddess I never desired or needed to be who I was not. Being a Lesbian Butch is a great place to be. On the other hand, there was no pressure on us Butches to trans back in the 80's.

    1. There is no pressure now. People don't transition because of pressure. This would be far from reality. Most Trans people know they are Trans their entire life. It is something completely different from sexualality. Every Trans guy I know actually likes men not women.

  3. She's still cute as a "man" - for the moment. But so are any number of drag kings. It's tragic that any woman would give up being a woman. And no (shoot me down if you will) I don't think it's quite so tragic for a man to give up being a man.

  4. As Dirt points out, it is the damage internally that is not immediately visible that is truly frightening. I remember when my Mom and her friends went through menopause and they all had different doctors telling them different things about the risk of giving estrogen to menopausal women and whether those risks were worth the gains. Some doctors were reluctant to give women in their 50's and 60's female hormones! How anybody thinks dosing girls from a young age with male hormones is a good idea or not dangerous is beyond me.

  5. Honestly? He looks like an average 16-18 year old in terms of age. Plus there is a strong filter on the first picture. More weak scaremongering at someone else's expense- you cant in honesty say that if you saw this person IRL, you'd clock him as anything other than a teenage boy

    1. You're entitled to your opinion, and with time, we will see who is correct. I agree with Dirt. There is significant aging which is noticeable in the second picture. I wouldn't be willing to bet my looks or my long-term health on taking hormones that are not meant for my body, but apparently, and sadly, many girls/women are.

    2. I'm sorry there is pretty obvious aging here to a scary degree. Why anyone would subject themselves to this is beyond me. This person does not look like a lot of the women who transition most end up looking like stocky bald men/butch women hybrids in their middle ages...most end up looking like butch women with no hair which is unfortunate and not attractive...this girl was lucky tbh

    3. Masculinization = ageing. There's no mystery about it. At 60, I'm biologically much the same age as my older sister at 75. Of course, I kvetch about it, but that's the hand that Nature dealt me. Why would a person throw in a winning hand and exchange it for a (most likely) less advantageous one?

I understand perfectly that "you want what we got". Wasn't that (reduced to its basics) the rallying cry of equal-rights feminism? But the leap from that to "we want to be what you are" (at the expense of other women?) is nonsensical.

    4. You must hang around some VERY haggard 16 - 18 year olds.

    5. "Most of them end up looking like middle aged men" because they are middle aged men. Do yiu even know how old this person is? You guys are idiots. How old do you think I look. I went from looking 16 to 19. I wish I could look like a middle aged man. I would prefer to look my age. These guys don't want to look like soft women. I think you have butch lesions mixed with Trans men. Balding on the other hand is completely genetic. If it runs in the family you will probably bald. If it doesn't you will probably not bald. People don't transition for fun. No one wants to be different. No one wants to get shots every 2 weeks. No one wants to be depressed in their own bodies. Most lesbians against this stuff is normally just in the closet.

  7. You guys on here do not have a clue. Out of all the comparisons you use a filtered piture that has blemishes removed and an air brush that creates a soft effect. Can anyone tell me how old he is in the first picture compared to the second? Let's start there. I am 30 years old and still look like a damp teenager and is on testosterone. You have no idea how bad I wish this stuff would age me. I don't smoke, I work out and I eat healthy. You guys responding to this seem completely ignorant of this topic and have absolutely no clue what actually happens from first hand experience. I will probably be carded until I am 40. Most of us want to age and look mature for our age... a lot of us have to settle for looking young. Testosterone does not age you. Matter of fact, testosterone is used for the complete opposite in aging men.

    1. Beaux you alone are a shining light on this thread. These cis people come on here with their scare mongering and their misunderstanding not only of how HRT works, but the entire trans experience. Thank you for fighting for us. <3

  8. It's interesting to read that most of these comments are very self-centred. You people have no idea the feelings he felt prior to her transition. This post is horrible, you have no idea who this person is and are victimising him for taking testosterone as though it has ruined him, yes he was pretty but he was probably depressed and needed to do that. I don't expect this man looks in the mirror and thinks 'I'm glad I'm a man now but wow it's aged me'. I get the sense some commenters are making out this mans choice to transition was not his own, as though it was forced upon him by some outside force, I'm sorry but that is most probably not the case. You people need to step out of your own heads where you have felt like you've all been in the right body all your lives and try and see the pain this young person lived through growing up. I feel very happy that I have not questioned my gender to this point, I cannot imagine the feeling and am grateful for that. I agree with Beaux in that these responses are ignorant to the topic, educate yourselves before you start spouting opinions about personal things.

  9. I think this post is disgusting. I don't see the changes you're talking about as being so drastic. The skin changes, yes, so she will look older. But she still looks young to me! Just a male kind of young! It may also be genetic. Her father may have aged faster. But I think some of the changes you describe don't exist!

  10. Wow. You people are fucking morons.
He would have looked the EXACT same way, had he been born a man. Testosterone does not "age" you. Men carry less fat in their face which is why he looks "wrinkled" to you. And Trans men do not go through menopause; Their menstration cycles stop and it is very unlikely they'd be able to get pregnant on testosterone, but they are not infertile, and it is not "menopause".
Really, the stupidity in this post (and in most the comments) fucking hurts. Next time you attempt to write something, maybe research it first. Or write about something you know about- like what it's like to have a mom and dad that are brother and sister.
