They dont look like girls.
what are girls supposed to look like?
Yeah they're not girls- they don't even wear make up and look at those hairstyles!
They dont even wear dresses! Not a bit of pink.
"What are girls supposed to look like?"Answer: anything they want to. Including looking like a transman. A woman can do what she wants to her body. Any problems? There's your feminism.
""What are girls supposed to look like?"Answer: anything they want to. Including looking like a transman. A woman can do what she wants to her body. Any problems? There's your feminism."Hard to argue with the truth. If we can't tell women to not kill their babies because it is their body. How can we tell another group of women to not cosmetically alter their bodies if it alleviates their mental suffering? Women do this everyday, get liposuction, get breast implants and reductions! Imagine that a beautiful woman with big boobies who goes to Mexico for a cheaper reduction so her back does not cause her suffering any longer. This is real, women do do this. For their convenience and comfort. With that being said, and what was said before, why can't a woman be a transgendered person, and in the end infiltrate male spaces? Maybe even influencing males as a human with a more sensitive prospective. Ah shit, silly me. I just realized I was wasting my typing skills and metal energy on this shit. We all know who is right here and who is wrong and just a big bitter bully. Let's go guys and gals, we have better stuff to do than sit on our asses all day playing tug of war on someones ill-informed, bias blog.
The "feminism of choice" isnt feminism and actually plays right into the hands of patriarchy. dirt
"If we can't tell women to not kill their babies because it is their body."Looks like the gender trenders are going to join the anti-abortion movement next. And the circle is truly complete.
One thing I've noticed is that every FtM looks female if viewed from the back. I wonder if the surgical procedures were way more advanced, and these girls could get all kinds of procedures like broadening shoulders, normal adult male functioning genitalia, etc. if we'd even hear a peep about gender being between the ears and all that. If that was all possible, would they be happy?
If one persons opinion dictates how a whole community feels..
It looks like the gender trenders are trapped in a box of their own making, that's what's so ironic (and sad) about it.
YOU play right into the hands of the patriarchy, Dirt. You already hate and mistrust transMEN *specifically* because we don't live the life you live. Or because femmes happen to like, date and fall in love with us. Or because the paradigm has shifted, leaving you feeling left out and unappreciated. For whatever reason, you're obviously taking our transitions personally, which is why you are so bitter and vitriolic, instead of logical, calm, compassionate and reasonable. You are the perfect stooge for the patriarchy because you have pre-installed hatred and have managed to convince yourself that *your* judgment of transmen is coming from your feminist analysis. In fact, you are just buying into the patriarchy's existing hatred for transpeople. They make it easy for you. It's much, much harder to radically question your own personal motivations for your political beliefs. You're not radical in the slightest, and you are a disgrace to feminism.
I feel sorry for all these FtM's. Even if Dirt's blog can save one it's worth it. Every one of us made rash decisions in our late teens/early 20's, but none of it was permanent (except maybe the tatoos.) We know "T" is like a strong drug that makes you feel better for awhile, but it won't fix your problems.
Dirt you should check out http://fuckyeahftms.tumblr.com/It's filled with nothing but women who are destroying their lives.
Some of those guys are my friends and their lives are certainly not destroyed by any stretch of the imagination. What the fuck do you actually know about anybody's else's life? YOU are a woman so you can speak to that and no other experience.
@6:50PMThey're women too. I'm scared for them. By the time they come to realize that they are women it will too late. They will have already tormented their bodies with unneeded hormones and surgery. It's just so depressing.
@6:57Can you tell the future or something? How do you know these transmen will realize they are women later in life and regret what they've done to their body? Is that your own personal experience? I know 60 year old transmen that would never take back their decission to transition. I also know a couple of butch women in their 50s that regret that they never transitioned. How do you explain this?
Dirt, it was totally awesome running into you in Royal Oak. You're way cuter in person, especially in that little Caribou uniform. ;)-E

I have passed as male since I was in my early teens and I am 39 now. There's some FTM's that eve I can't spot myself. I know some guys who "look" and have more of a female shape than me and other transmen I know. Not everything is what it seems!
Dirt claims to know our minds and speaks for our entire community. Did you not know that?
The "feminism of choice" isnt feminism and actually plays right into the hands of patriarchy...Some days, Dirt, I think of the Magic 8 Balls when I read your responses. Yet posts like this one remind me of going to a chinese restaurant and opening up my fortune cookie. They are such cookie cutter and shallow responses.
Anon @1:03 - I can tell 100% of the time if she's a FtM or not. In biology, things are what they seem. You can argue in the social sciences (Sociology, gender studies, etc.) that things are not what they seem. I noticed it's kind of an eerie mantra for FtM's to say (after coming out) that now they can finally be the man they were meant to be. And that their outside finally matches their inside.
E, Same! Was nice to meet a "dirt fan"! Thanks for sharing my break with me!dirt
If I didn't have an awesome beautiful BUTCH women in my arm right now...............I would kiss youDIRT:) muah!!! xoxoFemmemystique) xoxo
Awww FM, you rock miss sexy! And so does your very hot Butch!dirt
"One thing I've noticed is that every FtM looks female if viewed from the back."Careful, your ignorance is showing. I'd watch the use of the word EVERY. Blanket generalizations just make you look like you lack intelligence. EVERY FTM does not, in fact, look female from the back. How do I know? Because I AM one and I definitely don't look female from any angle. Lucky me - being blessed with a 6' tall frame WITH broad shoulders and no curves... sorry to disappoint - but your theory is shit. And I'm not the only one... I've known many FTMs who don't have a 'feminine' physique. I know Butches who don't have a 'feminine' physique, and I've known bio men who have a feminine physique naturally... go figure. You'd better work on a new argument.
lol @ "dirt fan" - how sad... I'd rather spend time with a Michelle Bachmann fan!

Or do you ask every guy you meet if they are trans? And another point - why does it matter? I don't understand what the fact that a person can't change their basic frame and shape with hormones or surgery has to do with whether people should transition or not. Part of transitioning is coming to terms with what can't be changed and finding peace with it. "grant me the serenityto accept the things I cannot change;courage to change the things I can;and wisdom to know the difference. "
