In the anti Feminist Trans Community Female equals Birth Defect

A message received early this morning.

To answer their subject question, jesus christ super star!

Rather than waste any of my precious time or yours I wont dismantle the pedestrian thinking in this juvenile's message. I will say these sorts of messages gladden my inbox and heart. Because it is these young women that write to me in a year or two, telling me how much they at first "hated" me/my blog but something kept them coming back and reading. And every time that they came back, they realized more each time how right this blog is in how misogyny works and works for/toward transition. How this blog stopped them from transitioning or how it has helped them to decide to detransition. How this blog was a stepping stone to learning to love themselves, love women and feel better about being one.

To the writer of this message, I look forward to you learning to love and embrace yourself and stop feeling you are defective. Till that time comes, you keep reading, thinking and learning the true value of the almighty female! And remember female isnt a birth defect, it is a privilege!

  1. This really shows how insane this has become.

No, it's not like missing fingers and actual physical/medical conditions. Before they pump themselves with hormones, physically they are no different than other people.

Notice how they compare transgender to actual birth defects like missing fingers, etc.

    The Disappearing "Birth Defect"

People unfortunate to have real birth defects can't magically change their physical condition.

What happened to the "birth defect"? Did it cure itself?

Below is a link to a MTV video of a young man who identified as a girl and now wants to return to being a man. Also, in the MTV video, a young woman who once identified as a boy changed her mind and returned to being a girl. The young man who appears to be in his early twenties discusses having his breast implants removed. In the same MTV video, the young woman who looks like she could be in her mid-twenties is shown undergoing laser treatments to remove the facial hair that was caused by earlier testosterone use.

Detransitioning stories are easy to run across on the internet. Transitioning essentially means the process whereby one changes his or her outward appearance to match or coincide with how one identifies or feels internally. Transitioning usually involves cross-gender hormones and surgery. Detransitioning is the opposite of transitioning, and there are numerous examples of people stopping cross-gender hormones. Testosterone is commonly referred to as “T” and FTM means female to male.

Adults who identify as transgender, or say they “feel trapped in the wrong body” also change their minds and revert back to the sex they were born into.

  6. A birth defect is an impairment of bodily function. If your body is functional, it has no defect, whether it functions as male or as female.

A neo-vag or pseudo-penis has no function except to look like what they are not (and they seldom succeed even in that). They are defects which are inculcated on healthy bodies by surgeons at great cost.

Somewhere someone posted a study of transgendered people with dementia. If anyone has the link I'd appreciate reading it again.

As dementia progressed, many of the people studied forgot that they were the gender they had tried to become, and returned to being what they actually were all along before transition.

Interesting study (small sample though) as it suggested that the narrative of "always knowing I was" is factitious.

  7. I've been coming here for a good long while. As long as Dirt uses the same tactics against trans people that nasty straights have used against gays, I'm going to remind you all of exactly who she is. And who you are. Calling us child molesters and rapists, claiming that we will never find love and that we will die alone...what else do I have to say. Because she is mentally ill, her hatred has become her obsession. It's clear that her interests go far beyond a critique of culture and straight into denegration of trans people. She believes she is a martyr- yet she wastes energy making us look even more like oppressed martyrs. Over the years, I have been able to embrace my whole self regardless of gender and this makes me even happier that I've done it in the body I feel at one with. Once in awhile I find someone here who has an interesting thing to say. Inevitably, some of you will transition later. You cant be this fascinated by us strictly for the reasons you give. I'm here to warn you not to waste too much time internalizing hatred for your own trans self. Its a waste of your precious life. The rest of you should eat shit. You are nothing but hate-filled stooges.

There never has been any reason to call our characters into question based on our decision to transition. Much less suggest we are child molesters. Would you appreciate that slander directed towards you solely because of who you are? Dirt is irrational and deranged- quite literally her *range* of thought is severely altered from that of a normal person. Any other person falsely accusing any group of marginalized people of crimes for who they are would be correctly denounced

Even after the euthanasia of the Belgian woman who was more depressed after the botched "top surgery" and "bottom surgery" (she thought the skin graft sewn onto her female pubic area was about to rot off), transgender activists continue to push "transitioning". There is a dead mutilated body, and what do trans activists do? They start blaming the mother.

Calling us child molesters and rapists, claiming that we will never find love and that we will die alone...what else do I have to say.

Dirt never said that all transmen are child molesters or rapists. She never said it. She did, however, talk about Kael T. Block because a lot of women have accused this FTM of inappropriate aggressive behavior and sexual assault. Isn't it true that charges were filed against Kael T. Block, and this is why Block fled the U.S. Dirt also brought up the fact that one woman accused FTM Ira Gray of assaulting her. Google it.

I've posted comments about transwomen (males who "transition" or identify as transgender) because of one simple fact that people refuse to admit. Males are more likely to be registered sex offenders than females. Do the crime statistics change because he wears a dress? No, they do not. Transgender identified males have raped and murdered women. They offend at the same rate as other males. Keep in mind that most "gender identity" laws require no actual sex reassignment surgery. Many transwomen still have fully intact male genitalia.

Paula Witherspoon is a transgender registered sex offender. He was ticketed for using a women's restroom in Texas. What did trans activists do after if it was revealed that Witherspoon is a registered sex offender who molested a 14 year old girl? They still stated that he should be able to use the women's restroom.

I've repeatedly said that I do not believe that males who cross dress or identify as "women" are any more predatory than other males. This is what they refuse to admit. When it comes to crime statistics, they are not better or worse than other males. They offend at about the same rate. Ronnie Darnell who was suing the state where he is incarcerated for female hormones repeatedly raped a 13 year old girl. The information is out there. Kosilek strangled his wife, and now identifies as a "woman". There is also the issue of paraphilias which are more common in males. I'm not saying that women can't have them too, but it's far more common in males. It doesn't matter if the male wears a dress. Indeed, wearing a dress is something of a sexual fetish for some men. I'm not saying all transgender males or transwomen, but stop denying reality.

Scroll down to August 23, 2013. This blog is run by a woman who used to be married to a cross dresser (most are heterosexual). She knows what she is talking about.

Dirt never said all transmen are rapist, so please stop with the same, tired, old comments. Kael T. Block was accused of sexual assault.

It it's true that transmen (biological females who "transition") really are men like they say they are, then because they are male, they would be more likely to be registered sex offenders. There are far more male registered sex offenders than female offenders. Look at the crime statistics. I really don't think FTMs are male, and with the exception of Kael T. Block, I don't think they are any more predatory than anyone else. I do, however, worry about two things: Testosterone use and being socialized as males (men are supposed to be dominant, etc.) What do these two things do to biological females who "transition" (testosterone) and start to be socialized as male. I don't know. Does anyone know?

This rape is underreported and under prosecuted. Second, testosterone does to individual people whatever it's going to do. Male socialization needs to change- not the fact that trans people have access to hormones. Worry about whatever you want to but don't pretend its some cause on par with Sudan or even gay rights in Russia. Third, Dirt has directed an outrageous amount of speculation on the violence and rape by ftm's. This is statistically unsubstantiated. Then there was speculation that our sex partners must be child molesters because of the size of our genitals.So....that was fucking weird. If you don't believe me LOOK BACK IN THE FUCKING BLOG. 19. Thank you, Sarah, for talking some sense.

Surely time to call out Nick Chaleu[... can't-spell-the-name] and the intersex firefighters.

I am “a man with an anatomical birth defect”, as I am 99 percent sure Dirt's e-mail correspondent is not. I was born with moderate-to-severe hypospadias (Google it), which required immediate intervention at birth and later surgery when I was three years old. Hypospadias is occasionally referred to as an “intersex” condition, and there may be good medical grounds for that, as it is sometimes (as in my case) caused by over-exposure to estrogen in the womb. It was correctly considered a defect because, as Sarah points out, if left uncorrected it would have severely impacted on my functioning as a human being, male or otherwise.

Clearly, to be born with a set of (potentionally) fully-functional female sex organs does not make you “a man with an anatomical birth defect” (pace Aristotle), but rather... (hold your breath) … a woman. Call me “essentialist” if you will, but simple facts of mammalian biology will not be overturned by your psychological delusions.

I have never considered myself “intersex”, but I do feel a certain irritation (British for what you Americans would call raging fury) when transsexual activists attempt to coopt intersex people and conditions for their propaganda.

Better stop there, Petre, before your whip yourself up to still further flights of polite indignation.

  20. There are a lot of people telling us that female bodies, any kind of trans bodies, and intersex bodies too are 'defective.' There are a lot of ads telling us that everyone should want extra testosterone too.

Whether or not you want to transition, it's important to get these messages out of your head, instead of repeating these messages, and if you do, it's often possible to overcome genital dysphoria.

  21. First of all, even a cursory look around for cases of lesbian rapists turns up a WEALTH. It appears there are actually many, many predatory women and plenty who molest children.

Because they are female, all women are more likely to be victims of rape or sexual assault than perpetrators. I'm not saying that there aren't females convicted of sex crimes. However, the crime statistics that go back decades clearly show that there are far more male registered sex offenders. As to violent crimes, how many school yard shootings were committed by female students?

"One of the most prevalently found conclusions within the field of criminology, regardless of the society, time period, or geographical location, is the finding that males are more violent and aggressive than females (Wright, Tibbetts & Daigle, 2008)"

Men commit a larger number of violent crimes than do women. In 2009, men accounted for 81% of persons arrested for violent crime and 66% of homicide perpetrators.

US Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Criminal Justice Information Services Division. Crime in the United States, 2009. Washington, DC: US Department of Justice; 2010.

    http://www.csom.org/pubs/female_sex_offenders_brief.pdf

The Center for Sex Offender Management from the U.S. Department of Justice states,

    March 2007

National criminal justice statistics reveal that of all adults and juveniles who come to the attention of the authorities for sex crimes, females account for less than 10% of these cases (FBI, 2006). Specifically, arrests of women represent only 1% of all adult arrests for forcible rape and 6% of all adult arrests for other sex offenses.

Census and Caseload Data from Criminal and Juvenile Justice Agencies

In contrast to the approximately 140,000 men incarcerated in prisons nationwide for sex crimes, only 1,500 women are estimated to be imprisoned for these offenses (Harrison & Beck, 2005). They represent only 1% of all adults incarcerated for sex offenses, and 2% of all females in prison. Similarly, adolescent girls represent only 2% of the roughly 7,500 sex offenders placed in juvenile residential facilities nationwide, and they account for only 1% of all girls in residential placements (Snyder & Sickmund, 2006).

Also, paraphilia is far more common in males too. It's a sexual fetish. Yes, some males get erections wearing women's panties or playing dress up. If you want a WEALTH of information, check these links out. Carefully read each article.

You seem to be making nice noises, but what are you actually saying? What is a "trans body", other than one that has been damaged by medical intervention? Where this has occurred other than by an individual's own choice (as in the "treatment" of male homosexuals in Iran), or even with their apparent choice, if we perceive them to have been psychologically manipulated into it, those people deserve our full solidarity and support, of course.

And we may not care for the word "defective", but "intersex bodies", in a sexually dimorphic mammalian species like ourselves, are generally an indication that "something has gone wrong" at the developmental level. Recognizing this does not mean devaluing people as human beings, any more than we should devalue people with diabetes or myopia, it just means acknowledging biological and medical reality. The various phenomena lumped together as "intersex" are, sometimes trivial, sometimes very serious, medical conditions. They have nothing to do with the mythological fantasy of "the hermaphrodite" and even less to do with transsexualism.

  23. What I find interesting is the arguments that anti gay activists regularly use tend to be the very same ones that trans-excluding feminists fall back on, including this assertion that transwomen (biological males who identify as female to some degree) also invariably wind up being child molesters. In fact, this exact argument came up during debates over the Boy Scouts of America's policy to exclude homosexual scouts and troop leaders. This is a classic tactic to stereotype a selection of individuals as representing some sort of danger to the more vulnerable members of society and has been used against minority groups for hundreds of years, from Jews eating Christian babies to black men falsely being accused of raping white women.

As for this ongoing argument about whether there are people on Earth who are in some way transgender (self-identifying via various definitions) or not.. I would like to offer two things to ponder:

    (1) the condition of transgender, of "feeling" one is of or should present or live to some degree with stereotypical traits most commonly identified with members of that individual's biological opposite is a condition of the mind, not one of the body. I agree that calling one's fully functional genitals a "birth defect" does seem crazy. However, how does one quantify a feeling of discomfort or need for which there is no definitive test for? Transgender individuals try their best to put it into an understandable context where one quite simply does not exist and more often than not, that explanation revolves around the symptoms rather than the cause. I flat out reject the assertion by anyone who can say with complete certainty that this phenomenon is not real. It exists in every culture on Earth and appears throughout the recorded history of mankind. Before you dismiss me.. let me suggest a simple thought experiment to prove my point. Please prove to me the existence of either LOVE or HAPPINESS, without describing the symptoms (physical, psychological, or otherwise).

    (2) Going on the assumption that the condition of transgender is in fact a real thing, at least to those who experience it to some degree.. we have yet to show scientifically how exactly this condition occurs. Some suggest the mechanism occurs while in the womb. Others suggest its hormonal, psychosomatic, or something else entirely. The fact is, we don't know what causes it.. or really, what it even is. All we see have are countless individuals who experience something which causes a common body of symptoms including body dysmorphia, anti-social behavior, a higher than average propensity for addition, suicidal tendencies, higher than average propensity to self-harm, obsessive compulsive disorder, and countless other symptoms. Whatever it is that is causing the underlying condition we identify as "transgender", it is real to those who experience it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. However, how does one quantify a feeling of discomfort or need for which there is no definitive test for?

    True.

Females can't change their sex chromosomes and the fact that they were born with a female reproductive system. Black people can't change their race. People can and do change their "gender identity".
Please scroll up and review post January 14, 2014 at 8:43 PM (The Disappearing "Birth Defect")

It exists in every culture on Earth and appears throughout the recorded history of mankind.

For what ever reason, certain intrepid souls throughout history have always stepped outside the boundaries of traditional sex roles. They weren't always called transgender, and they all didn't get elective cosmetic surgery on their healthy genitals.

On the extremely long time line of human history, "transitioning" (cross gender hormones and sex reassignment surgery), represents a tiny dot on a very long time line of history.

Human beings cannot change their sex. All primates both human and non-human reproduce sexually. Getting extensive cosmetic surgery on healthy genitals doesn't change your sex. It doesn't change the sex chromosomes.

For the sake of argument, let's say that in five or six hundred years from now humans will be able to change their sex down to the DNA level. That is, if humans are still around by then and we haven't destroyed the planet. Is this something that we really want to do? Please think carefully about this. No technology exists in a complete cultural vacuum. Technology is not something that is just out there. Culture shapes how we use it. It always has in the past, and knowing what we know about our history, it's not going to change. With the aid of an old technology called ultrasound, there are 163 million (Mara Hvistendahl) missing girls from India and China. Why did this go on for three decades? It's very simple. It's cultural in that girls are devalued in most societies.

@Many would have if they could have.

I understand what this individual is trying to say and I respect his or her honesty. I'm still confused for sevaral reasosn.

I've repeatedly said on this blog that gender non-conformity, or however we choose to define it, exists. I really don't like the term gender non-conformity, and I prefer to call individuals who reject traditional sex roles for whatever reason individuals who do just that. They are sometimes called gender outlaws, tomboys, butches, strong women, effiminate men, nellies, etc. Individuals who were brave enough to step outside the box of how society defines "femininity" and "masculinity" have always existed. These individuals can also refer to themselves as transgender. Having said this, one thing is clear. Transgender is largely culturally defined, and transgender activists do not own a patent on all gender non-conformity both past and present.

Twenty years ago, these 14 and 15 year old girls would be called tomboys. Most of them outgrew it. Now, they are slapped with a label of "gender dysphoria" at age five or six. For the sake of enforcing gender conformity (the kids act different), some children are being sterilized through the use of GnRH agonists and cross gender hormones at age 16.

There is another issue I would like to discuss. Transgender just seems to reinforce traditional sex roles. The female sex exists in and of itself as so does the male sex. Female is not a collection of sex stereotypes (girls were this, wear makeup, like dresses, think this way, etc.) These teenage girls think that because they aren't like other girls this means they are really boys. Being different is not the same as being a boy, or even being trans. It just means being different.

This individual makes some valid points. There could be a few rare individuals who are so "gender dysphoric" that surgery and hormones might be appropriate. However, there is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that most of what we see today is largely culturally driven. I would say about 90% of it is culture. Is it really "gender dysphoria" or everything these 12, 13, and 14 year old girls see on hundreds of youtube videos, countless trans blogs, websites, from friends, etc.? Most of this flies in the face of logic. There have been 5 year old kids "diagnosed" with "gender dysphoria". Despite what anyone says, experts still cannot predict which children will eventually outgrow it and which kids won't.

  33. Katherine Bradford - Thank you for your thoughtful and excellent comments. Gender dysphoria is real and we can find examples of cross-dressing and living and attempts to change the body in history.

I don't think the birth defect theory works though. It seems to me to be a complex interaction between biology and culture that involves different factors for different people.

If we look at children who have it, it is clearly about kids who act in ways that fit stereotypes for the opposite gender. They prefer certain toys and friends and want to dress like the other sex. In the past, about 80% or more of them changed their mind about transitioning with therapy. Most of them grew up to be gay. To the extent that biology makes kids gender non-conforming it is not a birth defect. What is going on seems like a socially caused dysphoria.

  34. More on the birth defect theory - I think what some young people are referring to is an older hypothesis that transpeople had gotten different hormones in the womb and literally had cross-sex brains. So far efforts to prove this have not worked.

The idea that it is a birth defect doesn't fit observations of gender dysphoria either. As I said, children, the people we would most expect to show an actual birth defect, can outgrow it. In addition, not all identical twins develop gender dysphoria.

In addition, there are many people who develop gender dysphoria later. There are a bunch of other problems that are associated with a higher risk of gender dysphoria in FTMs like having been sexually abused, having polycystic ovarian syndrome, and autism. Therapists have found that many adults with gender dysphoria have other mental health issues as well. Then there is the whole question of cross-dressers who later decide to transition. Gender dysphoria is not just one thing and it looks like there are multiple possible causes for gender dysphoria.

Finally, I agree with the earlier poster that the current doubling or more in young people transitioning is probably due to some kind of cultural trend, although it is also possible that we have messed up our environment in some way.

Our society is defect, not our bodies. The way society treats us when we don't act feminin or masculin enough according to our sex. That's what wrong, we should fix that and being ourselves and do the opposite of what they expect us to do helps.

  39. "It is a defect when it causes discomfort.."

I used to think of my bits as a birth defect. And my bits caused me a lot of discomfort. My last girlfriend finally convinced me not to think of them as a birth defect. And apart from some old scars, they stopped causing me discomfort. So did they suddenly stop being a birth defect?
