  1. thanks for posting info about these remarkable women...we have a great and vital history. and it feels so much better then the futile discussions regarding transgenderism.

  2. Unlike many female body builders today and FTMs (biological females who "transition") these women didn't take steroids or testosterone. They developed their strength naturally without injecting chemicals into their bodies. Anabolic steroids were first made in the 1930s, and most of these women pre-date this time period. Testosterone was first synthesized in the mid 1930s.
These are very old photographs. Click on the link for a short biography of these strong women. Since most of these women pre-date the use of anabolic steroids and testosterone, logic tells us that they must have developed their strength naturally. Of course, they were blessed with the genes and body build.

As to transgenderism, specifically FTM (biological females who "transition"), the culturally prescribed mutilation of healthy female anatomy in all its forms has a thousand plus year history.

There's that gender straight jacket crapola raising its ugly head. A fatally boring remark meant to incite. What a sad life you lead. Y is for Yawn.

  5. If these strong women were born today, they probably would be "transitioned".

  6. Its true that men in general can achieve this kind of muscle definition with much less effort than women can. Women have to spend every damn day obsessed with working out to look like that. If you are going to obsess *anyway* about looking the way most dudes look, you might as well save yourself some time, transition and go get a real fucking life.

  7. Most dudes don't have that muscle definition without working out faithfully.

  8. I've seen some look like that with no work at all. Just genetics. Others only have to work out minimally to achieve awesome results. Plus low body fat allows the muscle definition
to show. Women have to spend their lives in the gym for these results. If you make it your business to dispense truth (transmen have xxx chrmosomes) then you'd do well to deal with *all *the truth even when its inconvenient.

  9. Want to deal with all the truth? Testosterone packs muscle. It is not a "male" hormone, everyone has it. Men, on average, have more. Men also live in a society in which men are socially dominant. According to studies, monkeys produce more T when they are socially dominant and less when they're not. Take away men's social dominance and you lower their T and thus their muscular mass. Add to women's social dominance and T and muscle mass will go up. Perfectly natural, all without transitioning.

These women in the old photographs lived full, rich, and complex lives. This is why they are still remembered in a positive light.

"Transitioning" is a culturally prescribed social cure or fix for gender non-conformity that will go the way of lobotomies or any other ghastly medical fad or experiment.

If this individual had a daughter that had more musculature than other girls, I wonder if he or she would "transition" (elective mastectomy with areola and nipple resizing, synthetic hormones for life, etc.) her.

    These are interesting comments.

I'm aware that women naturally produce very small amounts of testosterone in the adrenal glands and ovaries. Since females don't have testicles, they never produce as much testosterone as a male.

In males, 95% of testosterone is produced by the testicles.

Very interesting....I don't think women want to be socially dominant. We would settle for being equal with men.
