26 "Male" Survivors Of Sexual Assault Part 2

The other highly important piece to this article is the skewed results of "male" survivors of sexual assault when many of these "males" are in fact women. This not only invalidates the articles claims, it invalidates real male experience with sexual assault! Something men are hard pressed to talk about due to the misogyny that surrounds rape/sexual molestation. Rape is viewed by patriarchy as something done to females, usually something males do to females. There is a very distinct power structure involved, inline with patriarchal structures.

Whenever males experience rape or molestation, their feelings of powerlessness castrates their masculinity. Under the constructs of patriarchy, females are raped because they are the weaker sex, the same applies to heterosexuality, only females get fucked. So when a boy or man experiences being raped/fucked etc, regardless of the sex of his abuser, his masculinity is relegated to the lowest depths of human: female.

So for male sexual abuse victims being put with female sexual abuse victims sends a VERY clear message to other male sexual abuse victims reiterating patriarchy's misogynistic anthem: Females are raped, Males are rapist! If we remove patriarchy's female hating backdrop from this picture, this anthem sounds in-fucking-sane! But within the confines of patriarchy, there exists a sick fucking pride in being among the latter, while shame and weakness are attached to the former!

Articles like this skew male sexual abuse statistics and play directly into patriarchy's misogyny that surrounds sexual abuse, further harming male sexual abuse victims and hindering any chance of disclosure or recovery. And for what? So that trans females can feel like REAL men?

Nobody gives a shit about your worn out, convoluted, and flawed attempts to make transition and transpeople seem like an apocalypse. Clearly.

  2. Actually this is relevant. It astounds me how many seemingly, and otherwise smart people, cannot grasp what a twisted facade this whole transgender bullshit really is! It is so obvious to me, how demeaning and contradictory to being free in gender expression, "trans" is. What will it take for people to open their eyes?

Hey c what does c stand for .... Cunt

C could stand for many things. For example, courageous, cute, caring, compassion, etc.

Including FTMs, or biological females who "transition", in with studies of biological male victims of sexual assault does, in my opinion, a great disserve to both groups. Moreover, by including females who "transition" in with male survivors of sexual assault, it could skew the results. How reliable would the information be? How can rational people completely ignore all the cultural factors at play not to mention the obvious physiological differences between males and females. Males are still socialized differently than females, and this starts at a very young age. There are different power dynamics at play in regard to the way in which society treats males and females differently. Many FTMs still grow up as girls, or live part of their lives identifying as female. Whether they admit it or not, it's impossible for FTMs to completely escape some degree of internalized misogyny because all females experience.

  6. Internalized misogyny horror story for today: Belgian killed by euthanasia after botched sex change operation".

    Excerpts:

"A Belgian has been killed by medical euthanasia after requesting death following a botched sex change operation to turn her into a man.
    (...)
"Nathan, born Nancy, Verhelst, 44, was given legal euthanasia, most likely a lethal injection, on Monday afternoon on the grounds of 'unbearable psychological suffering'
    (...)
"I was the girl that nobody wanted," Mr Verhelst told Het Laatste Nieuws newspaper in the hours before her death.

"While my brothers were celebrated, I got a storage room above the garage as a bedroom. 'If only you had been a boy', my mother complained. I was tolerated, nothing more."

"Mr Verhelst had hormone therapy in 2009, followed by a mastectomy and surgery to construct a penis in 2012. But 'none of these operations worked as desired'.

"I was ready to celebrate my new birth," he told the newspaper. 'But when I looked in the mirror, I was disgusted with myself. My new breasts did not match my expectations and my new penis had symptoms of rejection. I do not want to be... a monster.' "

  7. That's such a sad story Anonymous at 12:17 linked to. And extra sad how all the commenters still refer to the deceased with male pronouns even though her reasons for attempting 'transition' and her ample mental illness were made clear. 5:47, ok we get it you hate Female.

  8. 11:40, nobody is saying that all the people in this article are 'trans.' But women who were abused as girls pretending now to be male are only going to distort data about men/boys who have been.

  9. "How do you know all of these men are trans? only one or maybe a couple state their trans."

No one said that they all are trans. The problem that people keep trying to bring up is mixing biological females (FTMs who "transition) in with male survivors of sexual assault does a disservice to both groups. Despite saying that they are "male", biological females are different than males, and there are multiple cultural differences between the way males and females are socialized. Because they are still female, FTMs can be sexually assaulted and raped just like other women. As to FTMs, if it's known or suspected that they are female at the time of the sexual assault, how would rational people describe this, and what category would it fall under? Sexual assault and rape is a tragedy no matter what the sex of the person is. However, one thing is certain. Male victims of rape aren't going to get pregnant.

Below are posts about this article.

Buzzfeed, would you please re post this without the gender binary touting sub heading? There are NO TWO GENDERS. You have trans* survivors right here in this collection of pictures. Using phrases like "both genders" is exclusionary and just not okay anymore. This is a beautiful and brave post and has the potential to be busting myths on various fronts.

I completely agree, and this sad and tragic story just reeks of a sense of dispair and feelings of deep seated internalized misogyny. A confused and deeply disturbed woman who felt life would have been better had she been born a boy.

"While my brothers were celebrated, I got a storage room above the garage as a bedroom. 'If only you had been a boy', my mother complained. I was tolerated, nothing more."

    http://www.independent.ie/world-news/europe/belgian-killed-by-euthanasia-after-botched-sex-change-operation-29625291.html

I didn't know that Belgium carries out euthanasia because of what appears to be severe depression. The article didn't say that this individual had a terminal medical diagnosis. The horror of botched sex reassignment surgery would be depressing, if not actually traumatizing. However, it's not a terminal illness. Even though she requested euthanasia, I wish she would have gotten counseling. She might have thought that being a man would solve all her problems.

Why do surgeons perform such major surgical procedures on healthy female anatomy if the patient isn't emotionally stable?

"Nathan, born Nancy, Verhelst, 44, was given legal euthanasia, most likely a lethal injection, on Monday afternoon on the grounds of 'unbearable psychological suffering'

What was her mental and emotional state before the surgery? "Bottom surgery" on a biological female doesn't produce a fully functioning 'penis'. It's not like doctors don't know this. So, they go ahead and do both "top surgery" and "bottom surgery" on a woman who probably wasn't too mentally stable to begin with. Botched sex reassignment surgery would cause some degree of pyschological distress in a person who is fairly mentally stable.

    I blame the surgeons.

Every now and then the skin grafts required for "bottom surgery" don't always take. Besides, these skin grafts taken from the arm, thigh, or wherever aren't erectile tissue. "Bottom surgery" is rather barbaric if we look at what it entails. Multiple surgeries and a lot of skin grafts for something that doesn't work like a penis.

This human being born female is NOT a monster. She is a victim.

This human being born female is NOT a monster. She is a victim.

She is a victim of a culture that devalues girls and women, medicine and the surgeons who operated on her despite her mental state, and trans activists who push the idea that "transitioning" (surgery and hormones) is the answer to everything.

  14. This is one reason why I beleive that sex reassignment surgery should be outlawed. Human beings don't actually change their sex. It's just a delusion. SRS amounts to extensive plastic surgery on healthy genitals. "Top surgery" in females basically amounts to elective mastectomies with the surgical trimming down of areolas and nipples. "Bottom surgery" on both females and males is rather barbaric. What is the medical rationale? The radical alteration of healthy breasts, genitals, and reproductive systems is based on a questionable psychological diagnosis.

  15. Oh, I guess we should just start killing people who have depression too.

  16. "Suicide rates among transsexuals and those who have undergone gender reassignment surgery are high with some suggesting the rate may be as high as 31 per cent.

Chris Hyde, professor at the University of Exeter, who has studied the issues surrounding sex change operations, told MailOnline: ‘Research we conducted a decade ago found there is huge uncertainty over whether changing someone's sex is a good or a bad thing.

‘While no doubt great care is taken to ensure that appropriate patients undergo gender reassignment, there's still a large number of people who have the surgery but remain traumatised - often to the point of committing suicide.

‘While we haven’t looked at the situation since then, given the difficulties in researching this area, it is likely that the same issues remain today.'"

  17. There is no way to quantify how much a transsexual suffers from abuse and intolerance. I've heard language and awful accusations about transsexuals on this very
blog which could make an unstable person feel like a "monster". Thankfully, most transpeople are more resilient and do not take personally the opinions of a bunch of suffering, unbalanced and obsessive lesbians. By Belgian standards many of you should probably be euthanized too.

  18. I don't think this poor Belgian woman was reading Dirt's blog. But that is what trans believers usually say to feminists, that WE make people kill themselves. And 'by Belgian standards many of us should be euthanized too?' Just a slight variation of the standard 'kill yourself' and 'die in a fire.'

Why are unstable people even undergoing such radical surgery? Apparently, trans activists have no answer for this question. It's just business as usual. If the comments from the family are true, then it's shocking to me how such a person would have been recommened for surgery in the first place.

"Today, his unnamed mother confirmed Mr Verhelst's comments, made in an interview just before his death, that he had been an unwanted child and admitted she had not yet read his letter to her explaining why he asked to die.

"When I saw 'Nancy' for the first time, my dream was shattered. She was so ugly. I had a phantom birth. Her death does not bother me," she told Het Laatste Nieuws newspaper. (***this is what the mother said)

"I will definitely read it but it will be full of lies. For me, this chapter is closed. Her death does not bother me. I feel no sorrow, no doubt or remorse. We never had a bond."

Apparently, some serious family issues were going on between the mother and Nancy/Nathan. How could any mother feel no remorse at the death of her own daugther?

"While my brothers were celebrated, I got a storage room above the garage as a bedroom. 'If only you had been a boy', my mother complained. I was tolerated, nothing more."

    http://www.independent.ie/world-news/europe/belgian-killed-by-euthanasia-after-botched-sex-change-operation-29625291.html

This female child heard messages from the time that she was born that it would have been better if she had been born a boy. Of course, the doctors were eager to go ahead with the surgery.

I lay blame on the doctors, but there is something else that must be said. Internalized misgogyny in the form of being repeatedly told she should have been born a boy was the underlying cause.
Has anyone in her whole life ever told this woman that girls and women are beautiful and strong? Or, told her that girls are as good as boys, and that female anatomy is something to be proud of? Other than gender therapists who push "transitioning", who else has she talked to.

It's a fact that "bottom surgery" on biological females are rather ghastly procedures that do not create a penis comparible to a biological male's penis. They take skin grafts from the arm, thigh, or other part of the body and basically sew in onto the female pubic area. Every now and then, it's possible that the skin grafts won't take. Of course, the skin grafts aren't erectile tissue. Lenghtening the female uretra comes with its own set of challeges.

This poor woman might have thought that she would end up having a body just like a male, but this is mostly fantasy.

Despite being unstable to begin with, the doctors performed the surgery. Make no mistake about it. SRS is radical surgery on healthy breasts and genitals. Doctors know full well that "bottom surgery" on a biological female is never going to produce something that is 100% similar to what a male natrually has. Why would surgeons set mentally unstable patients up for disappointment?

I blame trans activists for pushing "transitioning" (surgery, hormones, etc.) and the doctors who were quick to slice her body up starting with the breasts and finally her female genitals.

  21. Oh really? You dont blame one of the most fucked up mothers EVER TO EXIST? Then you are a moron.

I'm sure there are mothers who are just as bad, if not worse than Nathan/Nancy's mother. Perhaps the mother was as evil as this individual says she is. The mother is really **ucked up. The worst **ucked up mother EVER TO EXIST. Wouldn't this just mean that Nathan/Nancy probably was too emotionally unstable for "transitioning"? Wouldn't it make more sense for Nathan/Nancy to work on her mother/family/abuse issues BEFORE undergoing (1.) double mastectomy and (2.) skin grafts and multiple surgeries for the faux "penis" that was about to rot off? So, she, I mean he, might have been a tad emotionally unstable (who wouldn't with the most **cked up mother EVER TO EXIST), but, what the heck, let's worry about getting those boobs lopped off first.

I blame the surgeons and the trans community for promoting SRS as the magical panacea.

If I were depressed to begin with, and the skin grafts attached to my pubic area were about to fall off, and I have scars where my breasts used to be, I would be all the more depressed.

I don't feel that I have the right to judge Nathan/Nancy's mother. All I know is that "transitioning" didn't bring Nathan, the girl who was rejected by her mother for not being born a boy, any inner peace.

Rest in peace Nathan. You deserved so much more out of life.
