"Lucy" Meadow's Death & Trans Community's Blood Red Hands

Late last year, Nathan Upton informed the school where he teaches young children, that he would be returning to school after Christmas break as Lucy Meadows via transition. The school responsibly sent home letters to parents letting them know of Mr. Upton's drastic change in order to prepare their children upon their return to school. It is unknown (to my knowledge) who leaked this letter to the press, but they got a hold of it and ran with it. Various media reported this story including many trans papers/reporters praising Upton's transition. Upton unfortunately was not prepared for the media storm, and was clearly misled by both the NHS and the Trans community on how his transition would affect his public and private life as a teacher/human being. Upton was recently found dead and his death, we are thus far led to believe, is from self murder.

The disgusting vile aspect beyond this man's death itself is the Trans Politic publicizing and parading Mr Upton's death all over the world wide web in effort to bleed his death dry to with little hitchfurther their own warped agendas! The very thing Mr Upton wasnt looking for was more bloody publicity!!! Media not supporting a Trans agenda is being harassed and label "transphobic" and Trans media is literally pimping this story out to anyone with an open ear. Meanwhile it is THIS very community, along with the NHS that caused Mr Upton's death with as much force as his own hand. Mr Upton said "The guidance I've had from the trans community has been generally sound." It is clear his transition was completely supported by those who he spoke to/read from/emailed etc within the Trans community. And if you have spent more than 5 minutes in a trans forum/space, any person who mentions even thinking about transitioning is immediately flooded with responses ushering them forward! He would have been given kudos along with advice on what to tell the NHS in order to proceed transitioning with little hitch. And the NHS being your typical Male Medical Machine, obviously didnt bat an eye on normalizing Mr Upton in the eye of the Gender Straight Jacket.

We may never know everything that lay behind Mr Upton's self murder, but we do know from his own mouth the Trans community deceived him right into an early grave. Nathan Upton didnt kill himself, Lucy Meadows did. And the gun used was the Trans community and the bullet, the NHS.

  2. Lynn,
    Low blow.
It is obvious that the media shit storm was too much for this person to survive.
Don't lay blame on the people who were offering support.

  3. CL, we both know if he had support he'd be alive today. If a person isnt mentally stable to transition, the NHS shouldnt have issued transition as a "cure" for his masturbation issues.

  4. Inadequate trans politics are also to blame. Did mr Upton fully think about the effect his transition would have on young people and the village? Why did the translobby not explain the difficulties of changing gender on a world which determines it on biology? Did the transpolitic just say yea heres a list of sympathetic NHS cinsultants, heres what you say to get 'treatment' , welcome to our club! The more the better , legitimacy in numbers and the Equality Act ? Sorry but there is much more to be learned from the story of this poor victim.

  5. The loss of any human life is a tragedy, and my heart goes out to the family of Lucy Meadows. As of March 25th, I do not believe that there is an official cause of death. Was it suicide, or some other cause? If the death was caused by suicide, how did it happen? Was it a heart attack, or some hidden medical condition?
Even before the coroner lists the official cause of death, some are demanding the resignation of one journalist. In all honesty, I know nothing about Richard Littljohn, and have no opinion of him one way or another, but I can’t see how what he wrote was at all responsible for this tragedy. Besides, several journalists covered this story as well.
Laying all the blame on journalists seems rather simplistic. The press in any free society has a right to express varying opinions on any given topic. Below is an article from the Guardian.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/greenslade/2013/mar/22/richard-littlejohn-transgender

Daily Mail urged to fire Richard Littlejohn after death of Lucy Meadows.

“Let me begin this posting by urging that people do not rush to judgment. I say that because the unfolding of this story is likely to be stimulate prejudice on either side. My aim here is simply to set out the facts.

In late December last year, the Accrington Observer reported that a male primary school teacher would be returning after the Christmas break as a woman.
The story said that the head teacher of a Church of England school, St Mary Magdalen's, had notified parents that Nathan Upton would be known in future as Miss Lucy Meadows.

  6. Guardian article continued..

A day later, the Daily Mail's Richard Littlejohn wrote a column headlined "He's not only in the wrong body… he's in the wrong job" in which he asked whether anyone had thought of "the devastating effect" on the pupils of the teacher's change in gender.

He wrote: "Why should they be forced to deal with the news that a male teacher they have always known as Mr. Upton will henceforth be a woman called Miss Meadows?" He continued:

"The school shouldn't be allowed to elevate its 'commitment to diversity and equality' above its duty of care to its pupils and their parents.

It should be protecting pupils from some of the more challenging realities of adult life, not forcing them down their throats.
These are primary school children, for heaven's sake. Most them still believe in Father Christmas. Let them enjoy their childhood. They will lose their innocence soon enough."

Littlejohn, who made it clear he sympathised with people who required sex-change operations, concluded:

"Nathan Upton is entitled to his gender reassignment surgery, but he isn't entitled to project his personal problems on to impressionable young children.
By insisting on returning to St Mary Magdalen's, he is putting his own selfish needs ahead of the well-being of the children he has taught for the past few years.
It would have been easy for him to disappear quietly at Christmas, have the operation and then return to work as 'Miss Meadows' at another school on the other side of town in September. No-one would have been any the wiser.

But if he cares so little for the sensibilities of the children he is paid to teach, he's not only trapped in the wrong body, he's in the wrong job."

That column has now been taken down from the Mail site following the news that Lucy Meadows was found dead at a house in Accrington on Tuesday.

The Sky News report quotes a Lancashire police spokeswoman as saying that there were no suspicious circumstances. This is usually taken to mean that it is a case of suicide, though it is possibly not the case.

Now an online petition has been launched calling on the Mail to fire Littlejohn and demanding a formal apology for the stress and pain caused to Lucy Meadows by the columnist, the paper and its readership…

But, sticking to the facts, it is important to note that there is no clear link – indeed any link – between what Littlejohn wrote and the death of Lucy Meadows."

  7. Why are people so upset, and what do we know?

Nathan Upton taught primary school in England. These young children had always known their teacher as Mr. Upton. In the school newsletter, it was announced that after Christmas break, Mr. Upton would come back to school as Miss Lucy Meadows. From what I’ve read, it wasn’t just the transitioning per se that some parents bitterly complained about. The manner in which this announcement was made upset many parents.

***People really need to look at the actual newsletter that parents received before they jump to the conclusion that the evil, prying press was solely responsible for Nathan Upton/Lucy Meadow's apparent suicide. The simple truth is this. Some parents were upset and confused.***

Please scroll down and look at the photograph of the actual newsletter. This is how the school informed the students and parents. Keep in mind that these are eight, nine, and ten year old primary school students.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2250555/Shock-CofE-school-Mr-Upton-return-Christmas-Miss-Meadows.html

"It was not your average Christmas newsletter for a Church of England primary school.

Marked ‘staff changes’, it began conventionally enough, informing parents that Mrs Metcalfe was leaving for a new teaching position in Spain.

It explained that ‘Miss Wharmby will be teaching Year 1 full-time’ and that ‘Mrs Kelly will be reducing her hours’.

But the sixth paragraph came as a bit of a shock.

‘Mr Upton has recently made a significant change in his life and will be transitioning to live as a woman,’ it read.

‘After the Christmas break, she will return to work as Miss Meadows.’

It then said the school was ‘proud of our commitment to equality and diversity among our staff and children’.

Yesterday parents at St Mary Magdalen’s Primary School in Accrington, Lancashire, were coming to terms with the fact the popular Year 6 teacher previously known as Nathan Upton – a father-of-one who until recently was married – is now Lucy Meadows.
They told how pupils had been informed that the 32-year-old felt he had been ‘born with a girl’s brain in a boy’s body’.

However some complained that their children were too young to understand how ‘Sir’ could become ‘Miss’ almost overnight and were confused and upset.
Wayne Cowie, whose ten-year-old son has been taught by Mr Upton for three years, said his children were worried and confused.

‘My middle boy thinks that he might wake up with a girl’s brain because he was told that Mr Upton, as he got older, got a girl’s brains,’ the 35-year-old decorator said.

‘He’s a great teacher, but my kids are too young to be told about the birds and the bees like this.’
Mr Cowie said his son had been told he would be punished if he continued to refer to the teacher as ‘Mr Upton’ next term."

  8. Scroll down and look at the photograph of Wayne Kelly who is a father of a child at the school. In the photograph, he holds the Christmas newsletter that, at the very bottom of the page, states,

"Mr Upton has recently made a significant change in his life and will be transitioning to live as a woman,’ it read.

‘After the Christmas break, she will return to work as Miss Meadows.’

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2250555/Shock-CofE-school-Mr-Upton-return-Christmas-Miss-Meadows.html

At the very bottom of the school newsletter, the parents of nine and ten year old students were told that, after Christmas break, Mr. Upton will be Miss Lucy Meadows. This is how primary school students were informed. Since the transgender community is out for blood, I suggest the following. As I stated at the beginning of my post, I’m not familiar with Littlejohn, and I have no opinion of him one way or another. Why stop at Richard Littlejohn? Why don't they just go after this parent in the photograph as well, and demand that he be fired from his job? Proceed to this parent’s house picket it, and demand that he publically apologize. Did the press incessantly hound Lucy Meadows? I would tend to say yes, but we live in a free society where no one can completely censor public opinion. Neither the press nor any one journalist is to blame for this human tragedy.

Whether they admit it or not, no one knows what went on in the mind of Lucy Meadows. If the cause of death was suicide, I only wish that Lucy had received some kind of mental health counseling. I thought that people in the process of transitioning were supposed to undergo some type of counseling. Was it family stress caused by transitioning? I know a woman whose husband transitioned, and it eventually destroyed the marriage. Isn’t it true that Lucy Meadows/Nathan Upton was married and fathered a child? Some women can accept this drastic change, and some women find it very difficult. I can say with all certainty that this woman struggled with the changes taking place in her husband. It just seems so simple and easy to lay all the blame on journalists.
What exactly are people supposed to do?

In Colorado, a mother of a six year old transgender boy is demanding that her son be allowed to use the girl’s restroom. Of course, any parent who objects to the idea of a biological male child sharing the same school restroom with their daughters is automatically branded “transphobic”. Despite this, I seriously doubt if anything will keep people silent forever on this subject.

It’s a sad human tragedy no matter how we look at it.

What support is this person referring to? It is my understanding that people have to undergo counseling before they "transition"? Where was the mental health counseling, and what did it consist of? Was this person ready to "transition"? Are we all ignorant, backwards, "transphobes" for saying that perhaps some people aren't ready for such a drastic change in their lives? Or, that "transitioning" is not a panacea for everyone.

"Persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population."

  10. Try actually reading the post. No one is arguing (at least not me) that the press stalked (IMO) Mr Upton for a story.

But had Mr Upton's masturbatory paraphilia been treated with ACTUALLY long term therapy to help him work through/cope with his troubles instead of pandering to them, no question Upton would not only be alive today but mentally in a much better place than he would have even had the press never heard of him.

Least we not forget in Upton's own words thanking the supportive trans community aiding and abetting his paraphilia.

All equal a hand in this man's death.

  11. Right. And the gay community is responsible for all the gay teen suicides. Have you been warning people how difficult it is to be gay? To be out? There's blood on all of your hands for making it seem okay in an openly hostile world.

Dirt, sometimes you say some insightful things, then you come up with some off the wall comments. What is up with the statement, "Mr. Upton's masturbatory paraphilia"? I'm assuming you are referring to autogynephilia? Is this what you are talking about?

A human life has been lost, and you are referring to autogynephilia.

  14. "Name a single gay person who has lied to another about the effects of drugs and surgeries to make them gay????"

Since we are on the subject of drugs and surgery, it would be more accurate to say that gay men and lesbians get surgery and drugs to make them un-gay. It is happening all the time, especially in places like Iran where it is so blatantly carried out. In the west, we fix our little gay boys and girls with things like puberty suppressing drugs followed by cross gender hormones when they are sixteen.

"Right. And the gay community is responsible for all the gay teen suicides. Have you been warning people how difficult it is to be gay? To be out? There's blood on all of your hands for making it seem okay in an openly hostile world. "

This issue relating to Lucy Meadows/Nathan Upton dealt primarily with his "transition". From everything that I've read, he was respected and loved prior to the "transitioning". Shoving the idea that primary school students (ages five to ten or eleven) have the capacity to emotionally or psychologically understand why Mr. Upton is now Miss Meadows concerned many parents, especially considering how the school handled the situation.

As to Lucy/Nathan, I've known many gay and lesbian teachers, and they just go about their business teaching. Telling your ten year old students that after Christmas vacation Mr. Upton is coming back as Miss Lucy Meadows sex could be confusing. I do admit, however, that this isn't quite as bad as the Colorado mother who demands that the school let her six year old "transgender" boy use the girl's restroom at school. Or, not as insane as Colleen Francis, penis and all, using the women's locker room at Evergreen State College in Washington State. I suppose it all boils down to this. Lucy Meadows/Upton was not prepared for "transitioning", especially the idea that the whole world isn't going to suddenly roll out the red carpet. Moreover, no one knows for sure what was going on in Lucy's mind. Perhaps there were some regrets over transitioning.

By the way, I've never said that gender non-conforming people don't exist. I have no problem at all with Lucy/Nathan wearing long hair or non-traditional clothing. Indeed, I say go for it. I simply fail to see how surgery and/or hormones in a process called "transitioning" is some kind of cure all for everything. Transitioning is pushed and promoted by the transgender community. Don't tell me it's not. Moreover, nothing that the transgender community ever says or does will convince most people that it's possible to actually change your sex. Don't try and sell me on the tired, old GLBT allies thing. A lot of gay men and lesbians secretly think "transitioning" is something that is being pushed on people, and they certainly don't believe the glitterized *trans fantasy that says people can actually change their sex. Gay, straight, liberal, and conservative all think it's gibberish.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Actually, you are wrong. Many people will not understand our experience, but they, along with
many, many others believe in and fight for our right to transition. You think any supporters of marriage equality are not secretly kinda grossed out by gay sex? Think again. You think some people who believe in gay rights don't also kind of feel sorry for you because you are missing out on the *true* and intended union between two people? Think again. You can't force them to know and accept that your love is actually worth as much as theirs, so you have to simply rely on their sense of fair play. They'll never understand, so its upon you to live your life in spite of it-knowing your own truth. The same way I do.
