The Lesbian Declaration of Independence from the GLBTblahblahblah

1) When in the route of the GLBTblahblahblah, it becomes vitally important for one group (L) to disengage the political stripes which have joined them with each other, and to assume among the forces of our Mother earth, the secernate and compeer place to which the Laws of Nature entitle them, a due fête to the opinions of the GLBTblahblahblah requires that they should announce the reasons which propel them to disjoin.

2.1) We agree these verities to be axiomatic, that all members of the GLBTblahblahblah are equally invested, that they are all empowered with certain unforfeitable rights, that among these are the right to a life beyond heteropatriarchy, autonomy and the quest for felicitousness.

2.2) So to insure that these rights are upheld, the GLBTblahblahblah agree amongst themselves, evoking their just powers from group consent. That whenever any group within the group becomes ruinous of these ends, it is the right of the remaining groups involved or the individual group to castrate or extirpate itself, and to found a new front, positioning its cornerstones on such precepts and forming its powers in such form, that they shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

2.3) Discretion will demand that the long standing GLBTblahblahblah should not be altered for trifling or ephemeral causes; experience tells us, that GLBTblahblahblah members are more prone to suffering when iniquities are endurable, than they are to right themselves by abolishing the wrongs to which they become accustom.

2.4) But when a colossal tide of male privileges, hetero-privileges and co-options, pursuing perpetually the same aim communicates a design to reduce/erase one sect under absolutism, it is their right, in fact their obligation, to separate from the herd, and create a new Front to secure their future!

2.5) Such has been the patient acceptance of the lesbian section of the GLBTblahblahblah; and such is now the necessity which encumbers them to remove themselves from the GLBTblahblahblah. The history of lesbianism within the present GLBTblahblahblah is a history of repeated injustices, erasure, neglect and intrusions! To prove this, let the facts be posited to a male privileged hetero patriarchal group!

The Facts:

3.1) Patriarchy and patriarchal systems are at the center of the GLBTblahblahblah benefiting all groups within the GLBTblahblahblah to a greater or lesser extent EXCEPT for Lesbians.

The patriarchal systems governing the GLBTblahblahblah continue to ignore/minimize/deny issues specific to lesbians such as higher breast cancer rates, a multitude of issues surrounding lesbian motherhood and how the sexual abuse of lesbian children and adult lesbian rape effect the lesbian psyche to list a few.

Lesbian spaces continue to be encroached upon without any support of the GLBTblahblahblah. In fact it is the gist of other groups who make up the GLBTblahblahblah doing most of the trespassing!!!

Because lesbians are not men, are not interested in being men and do not marry men, lesbians as a coterie are economically less well off/stable and are covered less (if any) medically.

Because of the patriarchal systems/regimes ruling the GLBTblahblahblah lesbian voices regularly go unheard or are completely drowned out of political decisions made by the GLBTblahblahblah.

The GLBTblahblhablah has done nothing in the way of helping lesbians fight to legitimate, authenticate and rightfully reclaim their identity away from heteropatriarchal paws which grip lesbians in one hand and their penises in the other. As a matter of fact the B(isexuals) of the GLBTblahblahblah reinforce the notion of lesbiansism as no more than a performative act for the male gaze, male attention and male approval!

The patriarchal systems operating the GLBTblahblahblah have not only allowed post-modernist queer theory/ist into the GLBTblahblahblah, but embraced queer theory despite queer theorys expunction of lesbian studies/histories/identities etc. Calling into question lesbians (not gay MEN) "essentialist" sexuality/identity and narcissisticly promoting "fluid" sexualities/identities at lesbian expense!

Queer theorist working within the GLBTblahblahblah have used the gay and lesbian platform to promote/legitimate the barbaric "treatment" of thousands and thousands mentally ill folks suffering from BDD in some form or other, many of them lesbians.

Due to queer/gender theorist (mostly) white privilege academic authoritative rhetoric/politics, the gulf between lesbians of colour, lower income lesbians and less educated lesbians and that of their counter parts have increased dramatically.

Sexism within the GLBTblahblahblah continues to be a non issue despite lesbian presence. If sexism isnt addressed/questioned/railed against within the GLBTblahblahblah how can the GLBTblahblahblah help lesbians and other females within the group to fight the sometimes harsh sexism that rages without?

Radicalism and its Message

Someone recently questioned my ability to get my message across without losing potential interested parties. Not the first person to bring this up with me btw. I often get "I like what you say but do not like how you say it", not surprisingly by mostly academic white females. Women more concerned with academic jargon meant to exclude the less-than-educated/less-than-white than actually getting their manicured hands dirty making any REAL change themselves.

Something that has stayed close to me and I still lean on from time to time from the moment I read it in an early 1977 High Times article was this incident the radical Patti Smith had on live radio. There was a new radio station in NY, WNEW and Patti was to speak about her latest album (VINYL BABY!) Radio Ethiopia and perform with her band a few tracks. Literally when she walks into the door of this place she is hounded about her watching her language because they're so new they do not yet have a "bleep machine". So from the time she gets there right up to the time she goes on, its all about the "no bleep machine", nothing whatsoever about anything else she has to say, nothing at all about the millions dying of starvation, obviously there are bigger issues in the world like not having a fucking bleep machine!

I would like to note before I continue, this was 1977 in the land O the plenty, mass starvation was not something many americans were familiar, it wasnt even a minor concern to our government. But it was a concern to a lone individual, Patti Smith.

Back to the story, as soon as Patti hit the airwaves she ceased holding her furious tongue and let all who tuned in that night know it! She expressed her anger, juxtaposing the insanity of the importance of cursing over hundreds of thousands suffering and dying and yes she did it with expletives. She declared the airspace "radio Ethiopea" rather than WNEW and told WNEW "fuck the bleep machine, GIVE 'EM THE FUCKING WHEAT"!!!!

From then on and currently, live radio and tv fear her. Has/did this cost her from becoming a pop star, from becoming rich beyond the dreams of the greedy? You bet. But with that comes control or rather being controled, having your message diluted into a worthless meaningless substance! So I ask you what is more important, a polite proper meek message filled with emptiness that wont offend the faint of heart and reaches millions, or a radically pregnant message that may only be delivered unto to one?

The dirtster isnt running for fucking public office here, it has NEVER been and NEVER will be about the "its not what you say but how you say it" bollocks to me! Lesbian spaces are being lost, femme/butch spaces are being turned into malecentric playgrounds and worse, others are being drugged and mutilated by ignorance and patriarchy! All this and yet so-called "feminist" women wanna stand idly around with their hands on their hips and shock on their faces because while everyfuckingthing I say is fucking true, I didnt say to THEIR patriarchal academic conditioned fucking standards!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS FUCKING PICTURE??????!!!!!

I'll tell you whats wrong, whats wrong is it is more important for these "feminists" to lazily sit around nibbling on Triscuits criticizing the likes of me in order to assuage their own short comings and lack of radical politics!!! The polish writer Tadeusz Borowski had one of his speakers from a short story say regarding the philosophers "we were filthy and died the REAL deaths, they were aesthetic and carried on subtle debates".
